Foodie experience new york?

Could someone recommend the ultimate foodie things to do in new york? I would love to know what the best brunch is and where to get it? and also what food I have to try? and could someone possibly recommend a special restaurant which isnt too expensive (as in not over $100) but is a good foodie experience :) Thanks
