Is it okay to eat around 1000 calories or under ONE day?

I woke up at noon today and already had brunch. I usually eat 4 proportioned meals a day, but there is no way I can eat 1200 calories today since I woke up this late, I'd feel like I'm over eating. So is it okay to eat 1000 or under for ONE day? Trust me, I never usually do this so it one day shouldn't put myself into starvation mode correct? Thanks
